I got the covers for my book.  Which version do you like best?

Version 1

Or Version 2?

As always, your thoughts are very welcome and appreciated!!

  1. I like the image in the second one and the title, author name, and borders in the first. In other words, get rid of the crackling in the first cover and that's what I would like.

    1. I kind of agree with you. I just don't know if it is polite of me to say, "Change this! Change that!" I'm not sure how much input I'm allowed to give before becoming a pest. :)

      What do you think?

  2. I like the second one better except for the title font and the tiny white line along the left edge. If you could take the title style of the first one and use that on the second, I bet it would be cool.

    1. Thanks Ted. I asked the publisher to do that and they sent me a third version. See the newest post. What do you think?

  3. Robert, nice to "meet" you! The covers are beautifully done. Based on the title, I would suggest the second or third, with the third being more focuses. I will have to pass a review on to my husband, seems right up his ally as a reader!

    Good luck!

  5. Yes 2 for me. I like the bold punch of red of the cape and overall it holds my attention. the first one causes my eyes to have to adjust. sign of age... best of luck! Great cover!

    1. Thanks Jim! If you have time, look at version 3. It's in the new post. Better? Worse?

At some point, I'll just have to pick! LOL

  7. Well, they used the plainer top and bottom, and I liked the other one better, just with the better text for the title.

  8. #2, definitely.

While #1 has what I assume is a stone overlay pattern to convey a figurative interpretation of the title, the patter they chose is a poor choice. The lines make it look very busy. I thought at first it was an elephant skin overlay instead of a stone.

The color inversion of the author name on #2 conveys that without distracting from the title's central image.
